Celebrating 70 Years of Advancing Plastics in Japan — Looking Toward the Future
The SPE Japan Section proudly celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2026. The organization was founded in 1956 as the Osaka Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), USA. Over the past seven decades, as Japan’s plastics industry has evolved and expanded, the organization has grown into the SPE Japan Section.
This 70th anniversary provides an opportunity not only to look back on our history, but also to consider the future of the plastics industry in Japan and beyond. The fundamental principles underlying technological innovation have remained constant over the years. At the same time, continued progress requires us to create new products, applications, and processing technologies that were once unimaginable.
To mark this important milestone, the SPE Japan Section is pleased to present a commemorative symposium featuring distinguished speakers from academia and industry. They will share their perspectives on emerging technologies, the evolution of plastics engineering, and the challenges facing the plastics processing industry. We warmly invite researchers, engineers, industry professionals, educators, students, and all those involved in plastics and related fields to join us.
We hope this symposium will provide an opportunity to explore the current state and future direction of plastics research and development, while fostering meaningful exchange and collaboration across disciplines, organizations, and generations.

Commemorative Reception
A separate fee will be charged for the commemorative reception and payable at the venue on the day of the event.

Receipts will be provided. If you wish to attend the reception, please register for it together with your symposium registration.
